Introducing Storytime PODs!

Have you come across the world’s first storytelling machine? It’s called the Storytime POD!

If you’re in Australia, you might be lucky enough to find one at your local library, hospital, café or even at the airport… Kids can jump in, take a seat, choose from a great selection of digital books and enjoy watching and listening as the story is read aloud to them. And Story Box Library has partnered with Storytime PODs to bring some of our favourite Australian stories to the storytelling machine!

Sunny and Tina started Storytime PODs as two frustrated parents, reluctant to hand over their iPhones and not willing to pay $2 for a 90-second amusement ride. They saw an opportunity to use technology to help businesses better engage children with educational entertainment.

We caught up with Sunny, one of the creators of the Melbourne-based company, to discover what inspired Storytime PODs and why they thought it was a necessary device.
